The Concert for Dante by the OrvietArmonico Quartet

The Dantedì of the Orvieto Committee of the Società Dante Alighieri could not have been complete without music — one of the constituent elements of Italian culture — splendidly represented by the flawless performance of the OrvietArmonico Quartet: Dino Graziani (violin), Rita Graziani (flute), Luigi Capini (viola) and Giuseppe Dolci (cello). They performed at the foyer of the Teatro Mancinelli with a programme ranging from Mozart to Brahms, Mascagni and the contemporary sounds of Piazzolla. In the refined, almost nineteenth-century drawing-room atmosphere of the foyer, the audience was able to appreciate the extraordinary rapport and experience of the musicians, who — following the thread of time — interpreted the Dantesque journey as an ascent culminating in an original arrangement of Piovani’s “La vita è bella”. Mayor Roberta Tardani attended to bring her personal greetings to the newly founded Association, expressing her best wishes for its future activities and her appreciation for the event.
