The Committee
The Dante
in Orvieto
Following ratification by President Andrea Riccardi on 12 December 2025, Orvieto joined the worldwide network of the Società Dante Alighieri — founded in 1889, present in eighty countries with over four hundred branches.
The Orvieto Committee was established to connect the city to this international network, to promote the bond between Orvieto and Dante — beginning with Luca Signorelli's Cappella Nuova in the Cathedral — and to actively engage young people in the cultural life of the community.
